Honda Motor Co., Ltd can be defined as a multinational corporation of Japanese origin. It is renowned for the manufacture of motorcycles and automobiles. However, it also deals in power products and financial services. Its worldwide line up of products comprise of Civic, Odyssey, CR-V, Accord, Fit and Insight. In fact it is currently the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the great country of Japan. It has been known to combine the development of machines with high racing potential and participation in motorcycles races all over the globe.
the company was founded on 4th September of the year 1948 by two individuals i.e. Mr. Takeo Fujisawa and Mr. Soichiro Honda. The Japanese meaning of Honda is origin field. Soichiro Honda worked as a mechanic at a local tuning shop in Japan called Art Shokai from a very tender age. He taught himself engineering and went ahead to design his very first drafts of piston rings which he sold to Toyota. Unfortunately, it was rejected due to substandard quality. He worked hard and even went ahead to enroll in an engineering school so as to gain from the quality control processes Toyota was using at the time. After 1 year, he was able to deliver to Toyota mass production pistons.
He later founded The Honda Technical Research Institution. This aim was to both develop and build a small engine for a two-cycle motorbike and it was established in Japan. In 1948 Honda Motor Company, Ltd was established. His first operational motorcycle was the Honda Cub and the T360 mini pick-up truck his first automobile.
Since its foundation, Honda Motor Company, Ltd has recorded success in many ways. It has sold over 12,700,000 models in America since the Honda Accord made its debut in 1976. For instance, in the last 4 decades the Honda Accord has grown to be one of the most trusted and reliable vehicles in the automobile market. It has even been named in the reputable Car and Driver Magazine as being the ten best in the world, this was not once or twice but a record 30 times. This record still remain unmatched by any other automobile brand to date.
